Donald J. Sutkus

Don Sutkus is a graduate of the prestigious traditional fine furniture making program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston and studied relief carving with master wood carver Clive Hamilton. He has been making handcrafted fine furniture professionally since 2002.

Don enjoys educating others about his craft and has taught beginning and intermediate woodworking classes. He also gives lectures on the making of antique reproduction furniture and has done furniture making demonstrations at various festivals and fairs.

In addition to his craft education, Don holds a B.S. and M.S. in engineering from the University of Michigan and worked in the engineering field for nine years prior to becoming a full-time fine furniture maker. He lives in Seattle Washington with his wife, two young children and the family dog and he enjoys spending his spare time outdoors with family and friends.
